Arch Equipment is a South African supplier of used heavy construction and earthmoving equipment, serving contractors, plant hire businesses, mining operations and infrastructure developers. Our focus is on providing dependable machinery that delivers performance, reliability and value in tough working environments.

With experience in the earthmoving and construction equipment industry, we understand that buyers need machines they can trust to perform day after day. That’s why we source and supply equipment from leading brands such as Caterpillar, Doosan and SEM, known worldwide for engineering quality and durability. Our equipment range includes:

Our Journey

Our History & Evolution

Arch Equipment was established in July 2000 with two divisions: plant hire and used earthmoving equipment sales. The plant hire fleet consisted of seven machines with operators and field service teams supporting construction, civil engineering, and mining projects.

While plant hire was successful, the used equipment division grew rapidly through partnerships with reputable industry companies and long-standing clients in mining and construction.

As used machine sales accelerated, Arch Equipment shifted focus entirely to selling quality second-hand machinery. Over the years, we have been involved in key partnerships that strengthened our footprint in the industry:

  • Joint venture with SPT Materials Handling until 2019
  • National used equipment division managed for Kemach JCB on a 50/50 profit share
  • Post-Covid liquidation of Kemach stock until 2023
  • Machine sales venture with BLC Plant Company until July 2025
  • Sales contract with E-Qwip, a division of Barloworld Equipment & Machinery.
